Steps to follow for getting a free domain in Nepal without any annual cost:
1) Visit the free domain registration page.
2) Type your desired domain name and search to check if it is available to register.
3) If it is available, it will show green color and a box shows a register now button.
4) Click on Register now button and create an account with your existing email (Gmail/Yahoo etc) or a new email.
5) Verify your account registration and login with your email and password.
6) Fill out the form and click on save and continue.
7) Submit the required documents (scan copy of citizenship, cover letter, registration proof for organization)
8) All done, your domain is in review and if everything is correct it will be approved in 24 hours or you will get an email if denied with an error message.
9) Correct the documents or domain name (if you choose a different name than your personal/organization name) and submit for review.
For Name Servers:
Most of the Domain registrars provide a DNS server, but the .np domain registrar does not provide any DNS server, so we need to use some other DNS server. No worries!! You can create a Cloudflare account and use nameservers provided by Cloudflare.
Registrants need to provide proof of Nepalese citizenship and a cover letter for personal websites and/or a copy of company registration and a cover letter for organization websites.
Foreigners residing in Nepal can also register a domain with their visa and other related evidence showing they are currently living in Nepal.
Foreign companies are required to have an official presence in Nepal as a joint venture, partnership, agent, or licensee in order to qualify to register a domain.
It just takes 24 hours or a couple of working days to get the domain reviewed. The registered domain name must be an exact match, abbreviation, or acronym of the registrant’s name for personal use and the registrant’s name or trademark; or otherwise closely connected to the registrant for organizational use.
